This scholarship award has been established to honor Lane Tech physics teacher, Mr. Joseph Schertler. When he passed away in 1991, the Schertler family awarded a scholarship in his name to one of his graduating students. This 1991 student recipient is now sponsoring a scholarship in memory of Mr. Schertler to reciprocate the kindness he received upon his Lane Tech graduation. (Established 2021).
$1,000 total award to one (1) student.
Lane Tech student with an expected June 2021 graduation date.
Student who has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, service, and dedication.
Acceptance to an accredited college or university in the field of engineering or physics.
Minimum unweighted GPA of 3.
