2023 THE PAULINE and Dr. GERALD KUTZMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship History:
This scholarship was established and is financed by Gerald Kutzman, Ph. D., a 1960 graduate of Lane Tech. The scholarship is named to honor his mother, Pauline Kutzman, and is designed to encourage Lane Tech students to attend either of two schools that were very important to his education and to his love of learning. The schools are the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Scholarship Award:
$1,000 renewable for four (4) years ($4,000).
One award winner will be selected each year and the award will be for $1,000 per year. The award can be renewed for each of the recipient’s following three years in college, provided that the student submits evidence of being a full-time student in good standing.
Criteria/Eligibility:
Lane Tech student with an expected Spring, 2023 graduation date.
The scholarship award is based on scholastic ability, academic excellence and financial need.
The student must use the award at either University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida or University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Choose one (1) essay, 250-350 word maximum, length may vary.

Essay Option #2 – Describe how Lane Tech has changed you as a person and how who you are as a senior differs from who you were as a freshman.
